An occupation-restricted open work permit lets you work for any employer, but only in the occupation listed on the work permit.
For example, in the Home Child Care Provider or Home Support Worker Pilots, you must work outside Quebec in one of these National Occupational Classification (NOC)
jobs: Home child care provider – NOC 4411 (experience as a foster parent doesn’t count), or Home support worker – NOC 4412 (experience as a housekeeper doesn’t count)
If you have this type of work permit, your employer doesn’t need a Labour Market Impact Assessment to hire you.
You can change employers without getting a new work permit, as long as your new job is in the same occupation and you continue to meet any other conditions on your work permit.

All jobs are reviewed by a CO-OP Program Coordinator, and only those providing students with work experience related to their professional development are approved. Administrative activities involved in a job should be less than 10% of the entire workload.
When you first contact SSC, you are assigned one of our Program Coordinators, depending on your discipline of interest. This person is your main contact in our office. As you move through the recruitment process, you also work with a representative from CO-OP Administrative Services, who assists with job posting and interview scheduling.
